This undertaking supports the continuing efforts of the Cultural Mapping Training Program, a tool of the NCCA to primarily lead and provide assistance to Local Government Units in identifying and documenting their cultural assets in compliance with Republic Act 10066, otherwise known as the Heritage Law, which mandates LGUs to establish and maintain their local cultural inventory and provide a copy of the same for the Philippine Registry of Cultural Properties (PRECUP). Designed to complement the Program, the Cultural Mapping Toolkit primarily aims to help LGUs fulfill their mandate to conduct their local inventory. More importantly, this toolkit will serve as tool for raising awareness among community stakeholders, heritage practitioners, advocates, educators, and youths about the importance of safeguarding heritage for sustainable development.
“Cultural Mapping is a form of research; specifically it is a form of cultural research.”
