August 2024 Philippine Registry of Heritage Update
The Philippine Registry of Heritage (PRH) recently published its Monthly Status Report for August 2024. Click the link below to see the current number of cultural properties included in the Registry and the Local Cultural Inventories (LCIs) submitted last month.
The deadline for 2024 LCI submissions is on December 15, 2024. Pursuant to the DILG-NCCA Joint Memorandum Circular 2021-001 or the Amended Guidelines on the Standardized Submission of LCI under the PRECUP for the Issuance of Certificate of Compliance (COC) to Local Government Units (LGUs), if the LGU complies with the documentary and minimum data requirements, a COC will be received from the Commission. IN PHOTO: Paete Church in Paete, Laguna (Registered Property, Municipality of Paete, Laguna)
The Parish Church of Paete was built in 1646. It was founded in 1580 by the Rev. Juan de Plasencia. Captivating for its stone made and constructed in Baroque style that highlights the unique exterior and interior sculptures of Paetenians. The Church also symbolizes the identity of the people in Paete due to their outstanding tradition and cultural craftsmanship that earned their name as talented carvers. The Parish Church is also recognized as “The Roman Catholic Parish of Santiago Apostol” or “St. James the Apostle Parish Church”.
