The Mammangi Festival paves the way to honor the Mammangi also known as the Corn Farmers, they form as the backbone of Ilagan’s economy. The festival was conceptualized in the year 2011. The Mammangi Festival expresses all Ilagueños’ gratitude to God for the bountiful crop and the City's accomplishments specially through the Mammangi Dance, an occupational dance that refers to the Corn Farmers and the process of planting corn. It is usually performed by the Ilocano and Ibanag. The festival is also celebrated along with other joyous multi-sector activities that highlights the Ilagueños’ culture, tradition and arts.
