The Jaro Cathedral, officially known as the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Candles, is a prominent Roman Catholic church in Jaro, a district of Iloilo City. It was founded in 1575 as a visita or mission chapel affiliated with Oton by Augustinian and gained independence in 1587. The current Jaro Cathedral building was constructed in 1874. The cathedral is dedicated to the Our Lady of the Candles, or Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, a revered Marian image. The statute of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria is also located in the cathedral, which is also a registered property of Iloilo City.
