Note: Local Government Units which initially submitted their LCIs with missing documentary requirements for the year 2022 may complete their submission until March 30, 2023. We encourage other LGUs to submit their updated LCIs for the year 2023 before the annual deadline on December 15, 2023.

IN PHOTO: Palaui Island Protected Landscape and Seascape (Local Cultural Property; Registered Property, Province of Cagayan)
The picturesque and tourist magnet island of Palaui is a national park and, at the same time, a protected area in Santa Ana, Cagayan. It is home to a variety of flora, fauna, and other unique wildlife, both migratory and endemic species. Aside from its rich biodiversity and stunning seascapes and landscapes, Palaui island also holds great historical significance as it formerly hosted a military base therewith. Palaui Island Protected Landscape and Seascape (PIPLS) protectors continuously advocate the preservation of the island’s pristine state by looking after the natural, cultural, and historical elements associated with it and promoting sustainable and economically viable community-based activities. Currently, PIPLS serves as an epitome of ecotourism and biodiversity-friendly activities, with its sustainable & culturally-friendly practices.
